Emenegildo Pacheco Obituary

SALEM – Mr. Emenegildo Pacheco 72, of Salem, husband of Maria Pacheco Tejada, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 17th, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Loma de Cabrera, Dominican Republic, he was the son of the late Juan Pacheco and Maria Diaz. He was raised and educated in the Dominican Republic and immigrated to Peabody Ma in January of 1979.

Melliso, as he was lovingly called, was a hard worker who enjoyed living in the countryside of El Aguacate, Loma De Cabrera Dominican Republic farming his land, and helping those less fortunate within his community. After Melliso immigrated to the United States he found employment as a Tannery worker with Bond Leather in Peabody for many years until the time of his retirement due to health issues.

An outgoing gentleman, with a kind and humorous nature, Melliso endeared himself to many. He was happiest when in the company of family and friends, and had a deep passion for music, dancing and socializing with those around him. Melliso had a big heart and was always there to assist others in times of need.

Melliso had a great appreciation for the United States and the opportunities it provided for his family and his health. His ultimate achievement and pride and joy was his beloved family, he had an especially close bond with his grandchildren who will love him eternally.

Emenegildo was the recipient of the Gift of Life on two occasions, receiving two Kidney transplants. His first transplant in 1993 and 2nd in 2010 allowed him to see his family expand and create memories for his family that will last a life time. This amazing gift gave him life. He was ultimately grateful for those who allowed him to live a full life. He did his best to honor their memories with his actions and his love for his community and family. His family is eternally grateful.

In addition to his wife, Maria, Emenegildo is survived by his children, Carlos Juan Pacheco and wife Laura, Coride A. Pacheco, Carolina M. Pacheco, Caridania M. Pacheco and Carina M. Pacheco; his grandchildren, Corinthia, Dominick, Ashaley, Lisandro, CJ, Bryan, Edrick, Ramsey, Vincent, Adam, Anaya and Anderson; his siblings, Jose “Chile” Aquile Diaz, Quisquella DeLeon, his twin sister Emenegilda “Mellisa” Garcia and Elido A.
