Peterson-O'Donnell Announcement

Danvers, MA - Widely known as one of Massachusetts’s finest funeral homes, Peterson-O'Donnell Cremations-Funerals-Celebrations in Danvers will now be known as O'Donnell Cremations-Funerals-Celebrations to be consistent with the other O’Donnell funeral home location in Salem, Massachusetts. 

The change comes after 35 years of the O’Donnell family taking stewardship of the Petersons’ location in Danvers, who founded their funeral home in 1956. Though the Peterson name will be removed from the title of the funeral home, Anthony O'Donnell and his team plan to keep the name present by re-dedicating the main gathering space and naming it the Robert A. and Trudy Peterson Memorial Room in honor of the Petersons.

The O'Donnell name has been synonymous with quality funeral service throughout the North Shore area since 1922, when Henry J. O'Donnell began the family business in downtown Salem. Since then, four generations have carried on the work of serving families in their time of need.

“We have come to appreciate the Danvers community so much over the years,” says Anthony O'Donnell. “It's not an easy thing to see new faces in a familiar place, least of all to trust them with the care of your loved ones. But we were accepted and trusted when we stepped in for the Petersons, and we can never thank the community enough for that.”
