BOXFORD- Mr. Alan Newel Tucker 73, of Boxford beloved husband of Ruth Ann (Evans) Tucker died unexpectedly, July 3rd, 2013 in Montreal, Canada following fulfilling a life long dream of traveling through Canada and the Pacific Northwest via train.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Millard and Marjorie (Hoyt) Tucker. He was raised and educated in Marblehead, was a graduate of the former Governor Dummer Academy and a graduate of Boston University majoring in Business.
A certified Financial Analyst, Alan began his professional career in financial planning. He changed career paths and became a machinist and had been employed at Middleton Aerospace for many years retiring in 1999.
A long time active member of the Trinity Episcopal Church Family, Alan was a dedicated member of the Men's group and the Church Choir. He loved to cook, enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was an avid train enthusiast. He had a renowned model train set at home and traveled throughout the United States via railroad. He was a beloved husband, father and a grandfather and will be deeply missed.
In addition to his loving wife, Alan is survived by his daughters, Rachel Graf and her husband Daniel of Georgetown and Cheryl Cutler and her husband Edward of Townsend, his sons, Gregory Tucker and his wife Sarah of Topsfield and Garet Tucker and his wife Faith of Lancaster, his seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, his brother David Tucker and his wife Monika of Marblehead and several nieces and nephews. He was also the grandfather of the late Michael Graf.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held graveside in the Memorial Garden of the Trinity Episcopal Church, River St. Topsfield Saturday, July 20th at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers. In lieu of flowers, expression of sympathy may be made in Alan's memory to the Emmaus Inc., PO BOX 568, Haverhill, MA 01831.
