SALEM - Mr. Albert C. Hill, Jr. 76 of Salem beloved husband of the late Ruby Lee (Jones Ridgeway) Hill passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with his family by his side. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Albert Sr. and Euline (Prescod) Hill. Raised and educated in Salem, he was a graduate of Salem High School, class of 1960. An honorably discharged veteran, Albert proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Throughout his life, Albert continued to support the veterans by donating to numerous veterans affairs organizations both locally and nationally. A life-long resident of the City of Salem, Albert first started his professional career with General Electric in their Steam Turbine Division. Albert later developed his career as a Purchasing Agent first starting with the Bank of Boston and most recently with the City of Salem where he dedicated 21 years to the community he loved until the time of his retirement in 2009. A loving and devoted husband, father and papa, Albert was a true family man and went above and beyond to care for his wife and children. His love for Ruby was undeniable and together they shared over 50 years of marriage, having tied the knot on October 28, 1967. His smile and charm will be missed dearly by all who knew, loved and respected Albert. Albert is survived by his sons; Albert C. Hill, III of Salem and Terrence W. Hill and his wife Gloria Pineda, his grandchildren; Jackson, Kyleigh and Cecilia, his sisters; Natalie O'Neil and her partner Mark of TX, Cynthia Sport and Aletha Hill both of Salem, his brothers; Sinclair Hill and his wife Gloria of Las Vegas, NV, and Lorenza Hill and his wife Joanne of Salem and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend Albert's funeral service which will be held in St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 24 St. Peter St., Salem on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 10 A.M. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours in the O'Donnell Funeral Home, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem on Sunday, January 12th from 2 to 6 P.M.
