BEVERLY - Alfonso F. Albiero of Beverly, died on July 28, 2021 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House of Danvers with his devoted partner Cathy Bush at his side.
Born in Peabody, Massachusetts on March 18, 1945. He was most proud of his work as a firefighter in Beverly. Alfonso was a great cook and often reminisced about making a big pot of his mother’s meat sauce served with “bullets” of fresh bread for his brother firefighters. He was a competitive Dart player who made his own Flights. He volunteered at My Brothers Table. He fondly recalled his involvement with the Beverly Crusaders drum and bugle Corp and his active service in the United States Army Reserves. He loved music and always played guitar. He liked to write funny stories and sketch in pencil. In the earliest days of the internet, he posted his recipes in blog posts. He loved a good Fisherman’s platter. He would drive great distances to eat at Arby’s and always kept record of his mileage. He had an amazing memory and an uncanny charting mind. No matter what the destination, Alfonso could tell you every mile marker, route and exit on the highways of America from Coast to Coast.
He had three children; Alan Albiero of New Hampshire, Anthony Albiero of Beverly and Erin A Albiero of North Hampton NH. Each of them kind, accomplished people, whom Al would often brag about. He was predeceased by his father, Guisseppe Albiero of Peabody, his beloved mother Jennie (Bettinazzi Albiero) Dato of Phoenix, and by his beloved sister, Josephine (Albiero) Lussier of Phoenix. He leaves behind his brothers: Louis Albiero and his wife Cindy of Beverly, and Angelo Albiero and his partner Judy Pelletier, formerly of Lynn, now of Ormond Beach, Florida. His nieces; Linda Burroughs and her daughter Jeannie Smith of Phoenix, Chrystal Komarek of Gloucester and Amy Ann Albiero of Danvers, nephews; Michael Albiero and his wife Sharon of Danvers and Louis Albiero Jr. and his wife Corinne of Florida. He will be missed by his dear friend of over 50 years, Susan Kluge of Beverly. He will be especially missed by his niece Susan M. Albiero, her husband Rick Gadbois and their children, Roman Gadbois and Sofia Gadbois of Gloucester with whom he shared a special bond over the years.
