Alfred "Teddy" Mscisz Jr. Obituary

DANVERS – Mr. Alfred Theodore “Teddy” Mscisz Jr., 59, of Danvers, died peacefully, Friday, September 9th, 2022 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House with his family by his side.

Born in Danvers, he was the son of Alfred T. Sr. and Ruth Ann (Kodes) Mscisz. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Danvers High School, Class of 1981. While in High School, Ted was a member and starting goalie for the Danvers High Varsity Ice Hockey team. As a member of the Falcons, he earned Northeastern Conference All Star recognition, had the conference’s lowest game average and guided the team, between the pipes, all the way to the Boston Garden and the state semi-finals. He excelled in net and was selected for the United States of America European Cup winning hockey team in 1981 and the U.S. Junior Olympic Hockey training team.

Mr. Mscisz was the owner and operator of A.T. Mscisz & Sons, Excavation Contractors and Cemetery Services of Danvers. Ted worked in construction from the time he could drive. He was highly skilled at operating heavy equipment. He took great pride in working for his family’s company and was especially proud of working alongside his father, brother and sons. Personally, and professionally, Ted always put others first. He was relied upon by friends, family and customers alike in times of need. Always willing to put others requests above his own, if you were in need, Teddy was there, without question or reservation.

A loving and devoted father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle and companion, Teddy was truly dedicated to his family. He was happiest surrounded by his family and friends. With an affable personality, Teddy endeared himself to many. He had countless lifelong friends. He was easy to talk to and quick to laugh. He relished his camaraderie and was most proud of being grampy Ted.

A lifelong resident of the Town of Danvers, he enjoyed spending his time fishing, hunting, walking and at Nascar events. Ted was honest, hardworking, kind, genuine and loved by all. His memory will live on forever.

Ted is survived by his sons, John Mscisz and his wife, Danielle of Danvers and Alfred “TJ” Mscisz III and his wife, Kaitlyn of Danvers, his grandson, Talon John Mscisz, his parents, Ruth Ann and Alfred T. “Freddy” Mscisz Sr. of Danvers and Florida, his brother, Michael Mscisz of Danvers, his niece, Morgan Mscisz, his nephew, Jared Mscisz, his long-time loving companion, Robin Farrell of Danvers and many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends.
