DANVERS- Mr. Andrew Malcom Chase 84 of Danvers, beloved husband of Jeanne A. (Lunt) Chase, died Thursday evening at the Brigham and Woman's Hospital in Boston surrounded by his family.
Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Fred and Mary (Ross) Chase. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of the former Holten High School, Class of 1945.
An honorably discharged and decorated veteran, Mr. Chase served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps during World War II, where he was awarded the Purple Heart.
Professionally, Andrew was a skilled and master plumber having been employed with the Plumbing Local 137. He had also been a partner in the former Chase and O'Connell Plumbing of Salem. He was known throughout as a master of his trade.
An active member of the Danvers community, Mr. Chase was a long time dedicated member of the Maple Street Congregational Church of Danvers. He was a member of Amity Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Danvers and the Alleppo Shrine Temple of Wilmington. With all of his activities he enjoyed his time the most spending it with family and friends at his home or in his prized garden. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.
In addition to his loving wife of sixty one years, Andrew is survived by his daughters, Sandra St. Claire and her husband Harry of Danvers and Cheryl Chase and her partner Noel Halupowski of Danvers, his son, Dana Chase and his wife Julie of Danvers, his beloved grandchildren, Taryn Chase of Somerville, Danielle Chase of Manhattan, New York, Michael St. Claire and Christopher St. Claire both of Danvers and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Christine Wright and George Chase.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held in the Maple Street Congregational Church, Maple St., Danvers, Tuesday at 10 A. M. Relatives and friends invited. As requested visiting hours omitted. Burial is private. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) Danvers.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in Andrew's memory to the Hospice of the North Shore and greater Boston, 75 Sylvain St., Danvers, MA 01923.
