PEABODY- Mrs. Anna (Aslantas) Akdeniz 92, of Peabody, beloved wife of the late Dimo Akdeniz, with whom she shared 67 years of marriage, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2022, at the Kaplan Estates in Peabody, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Kocagol, Turkey she was the daughter of the late Averyan and Paraskeva (Ural) Aslantas. She was raised and educated in Turkey. Anna and her husband immigrated to the United States in 1963. They settled in New York, Peabody and eventually settled in Salem where they raised their family.
Anna had been employed at Sylvania for over 20 years first as a Packer and later as a Matron. She enjoyed being with her fellow employees and was known for her strong work ethic and dedication.
Devoted to her family and faith, Anna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was the center of her world, she loved them, provided for them and was happiest when surrounded by them. She enjoyed cooking, working in her unique garden of vegetables, flowers, and plants. It was her grapevines that the family enjoyed most, the children loved Baba’s special grape juice and the adults enjoyed the champagne. Anna was a longtime active member of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Salem where she attended Services regularly and volunteered. Anna will be forever remembered for her love of family, her generosity to others and deeply missed by all who loved her.
Surviving Anna are her daughters, Elena Moradi and her husband Alex of Salem and Anastasia Akdeniz of Salem, her grandchildren, Christopher Moradi, Natasha Ouellette, Tatyana Cloutier and her husband Alex and Sonya Pykosz, her great-grandchildren, Emma Ouellette, Mason Ouellette, Olivia Moradi and Owen Cloutier and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours at O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Square (at Salem Common) SALEM on Monday, December 5th, 2022, from 5 to 7 P.M. Her funeral Mass will be held in St. Sergius Russian Orthodox Church in New York. Burial in Novo Diveevo Russian Orthodox Cemetery, New York.
