Anna (Kelly) Gayton

November 15, 1937 ~ May 4, 2020 (age 82)


SALEM - Mrs. Anna M. (Kelly) Gayton of Salem, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2020 at the Jeffrey and Susan Brudnick Center for Living in Peabody, after a brief battle with coronavirus. She was 82 years old.

Anna, a lifelong Salem resident, was a long-time toy department manager at the old Ann & Hope at the Liberty Tree Mall.  She enjoyed knitting, and was best remembered for her “nana blankets” she made for her newborn grandchildren and others.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 20 years, Marshall.

Anna is survived by her son Joseph Lassiter and his wife Colleen of Seabrook, NH; daughters Deborah Leblanc of Amesbury, MA; Kelly Famolare and her husband Edward of Peabody, MA; Nancy Mitchell and her husband John of Salem, MA; Maryann Occhipinti of Somersworth, NH; and Laurie Nagle and her husband David of New Windsor, NY. She is also survived by, 18 grandchildren: Kerri Rogers, Nicole Collins, Lisa Campbell, Jill Williams, Mark Guy, Kristine Lassiter, Dean DeRoche, Daniel Lassiter, Matthew Lassiter, Michelle Caron, Edward Famolare, Jr., John Occhipinti, Nicholas Occhipinti, Samantha Famolare, Brenden Hawkes, Olyvia Mitchell, Michael Mitchell and Emily Occhipinti, 19 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a sister, Patricia Popp of Peabody, MA.

ARRANGEMENTS: In light of the coronavirus pandemic, a memorial Mass will be held at a later date to be determined. Assisting the family with the arrangements is O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem.
