SALEM – Mrs. Anne (Rogers) Szczechowicz, 90, of Salem, beloved wife of the late Bernard W. Szczechowicz Sr., died peacefully, July 30, 2020 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Arlington, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Anna Louise (Kavanaugh) Rogers. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1948.
Mrs. Szczechowicz worked for over 40 years with the New England Telephone Company/Verizon until the time of her retirement. She began her career at the St. Peter Street, Salem office and finished her career as a Service Orders Supervisor on Franklin Street in Boston. She was highly regarded amongst her colleagues for her professional detail and acumen.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Anne enjoyed spending her time with her family. She was an avid bowler and a member of the bowling league and met her beloved husband Candlepin bowling. She enjoyed golf, was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and an active member of the Salem Senior Center and its choir, where she made many friends. Above all else family always came first. She will be deeply missed.
Anne is survived by her loving son, Salem Fire Fighter, Bernard Szczechowicz Jr and his wife Judi of Salem, her grandchildren, Nicholas Albert and his companion Collette Turner and Alexandra Szczechowicz, her great granddaughter, Sofia Albert, her sister Val Gauthier and her husband Maurice of Bedford and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William Murray.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held at O’Donnell Cremations - Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem, Tuesday, August 4th at 7:15 PM Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours prior to the service from 5 to 7 P.M. All attendees are required to wear face coverings, practice social distancing and are respectfully asked for no physical contact with the family.
