Annette A. (Chouinard) Cohen

TOPSFIELD – Ms. Annette A. (Chouinard) Cohen, 83, of Topsfield, died peacefully December 30th, 2021 at Beverly Hospital.

Born in North Adams, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Alfie and Alice (Brooks) Chouinard. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

Ms. Cohen was a true entrepreneur as well as an educator. She was the proprietor of a Clothing Design and Restoration business for many years in Vermont. She specialized in Wedding Dress Design and even designed the wedding dresses for both of her daughters. She loved to help people create life long memories. Having a passion for wedding planning, she loved to assist brides in creating one of kind nuptials. Her talent for garment restoration was well known as Annette put copious amounts of love into her work. She was truly a “people person” and taught at the Rhode Island School of Design for many years. She took great pride in sharing her knowledge and fostering other’s passions.  

A resident of the Town of Topsfield, Annette was an active member of community. She loved to volunteer and help others and did so through many community organizations. She was a member of the Topsfield Council of Aging and the North Shore Unitarian Universalist Church, as well as a member of many craft and sewing groups. For years, she was a museum docent, guiding and educating guests about her favorite topics, art and music. She truly had a special talent of connecting with others.

Family was at the heart of Annette’s life. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and was ultimately proud of her family’s accomplishments. Supporting them through all of their endeavors. She will be deeply missed.

Annette is survived by her loving daughters, Candice Maynard and her husband, Christopher of Lincoln, RI and Andrea Hamson and her husband, Dale of Topsfield, her devoted grandchildren, Jared and Justin Maynard and Shea and Ashley Hamson. She was the sister of the late Edmond Chouinard.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her Funeral Service will be held at O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St. (rte 62) DANVERS, Tuesday, January 4th at 12 Noon. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hour prior to the service from 10 A.M. to 12 Noon. All attendees are required to wear face coverings.
