PEABODY-Mr. Anthony C. Bertone, 82 formerly of Beverly and Salem, beloved husband of the late Stella (Kehoe) Bertone, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage, passed away Monday March 30, 2020 at Beverly Hospital.
Born in Beverly he was the son of the late Antonio and Mabel (Wilson) Bertone. He was raised and educated in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School.
Mr. Bertone had been employed as a foreman at FlynnTan tannery for many years and later worked as a caregiver at Danvers State hospital until the time of his retirement. During his retirement Anthony was a school bus aide for the City of Beverly.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Anthony was devoted to his wife and children. He was the quintessential father whose family was the center of his life, everything he did he did for them. He was kind, caring and supportive and was always there to guide them. His love and devotion was always first and foremost and from this he never wavered. He will be fondly remembered as the best Dad, friend and Papa and deeply missed by his loving family, friends and those he cared for throughout his life.
Surviving Anthony are his daughters, Doreen Belanger and her husband Ron of Beverly, and Tammy Binette and her husband Bruce of Mansfield, his sons, Leonard Bertone of Peabody and Steven Bertone and his wife Louise of Chambersburg, PA, his grandchildren, Kyle, Kameron, Kody, Brandon and Tyler and his two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Owen, his siblings, Sonny Bertone and his wife Madeline of Danvers, William Bertone of FL, Janice Bouchard of Danvers, Lorraine Boisvert and her husband Edward of FL, and Lawrence Bertone of Salem. He was also the grandfather of the late Kayla Bertone.
