Anthony Scialdone Obituary

SALEM- Mr. Anthony C. Scialdone, 68, of Salem, beloved husband of Carole S. (Cordette) Scialdone, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Beverly Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Lynn, he was the son of Angelina (Villano) Scialdone and the late Salvatore Scialdone. He was raised and educated in Salem; he attended St. Anne’s Grammar School and was a graduate of Salem High School Class of 1970.

Mr. Scialdone had been employed as Lead Mechanic at Parker Brothers Games for over 25 years. Most recently he had been employed at South Essex Sewerage in Salem for several years.

Tony was a beloved Pop Warner Football coach for over 20 years; he instilled the importance of good sportsmanship, the thrill of competition and what it meant to be part of a team.  He was a huge Boston sports fan and always supported his beloved Patriots.  An avid sportsman, he loved the outdoors and had a passion for hunting and fishing and was a longtime member of the Danvers Fish and Game Club.

A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Tony was steadfast in his belief that family should always come first. He was strong and devoted and worked hard each day to support his family. He was immensely proud of his children and their many accomplishments and was grateful to be part of their many milestones.  Tony will be remembered as a dedicated family man, loyal friend and deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Surviving Tony in addition to his wife Carole with whom he shared 45 years of marriage and his mother Angelina are his children Melanie Alley and her husband Christopher of Beverly and his son, Matthew Scialdone and his partner Meghan Powers of Peabody, his grandchildren, Evan Scialdone of Hampton, NH, Sienna and Tyler Alley of Beverly, his sisters Carmella Cote and her companion Robert Duprez of Salem and Diane Richmond and her husband James of Salem, his sister-in-law Andrea Cordette of Swampscott and brother-in-law, Dennis Cordette of Brookline and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother’s in-law Ronald Cordette and James Cote.  

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in O’Donnell – Cremation – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., Salem, MA 01970 on Tuesday, November 24th from 9 to 11 A.M. All other services are private. All attendees are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing. Sharing written remembrances and condolences, during this time will be essential in helping Tony’s family reminisce, celebrate and heal.
