SALEM - Mr. Antonio Couto, 82, of Salem, beloved husband of Maria (Rodas Araujo) Couto, died unexpectedly, Saturday, July 18th, 2020 at Beverly Hospital with his devoted wife at his side.
Born in the Soajo, Portugal, he was the son of the late Alexander and Ana (Araujo) Couto. Upon immigrating to the United States, the Couto family made the North Shore their home and worked diligently building a successful business.
Antonio was devoted to his faith and family. He loved his wife, daughter, sons, grandchildren and entire family and will be deeply missed.
Antonio is survived by his loving wife, Maria Couto of Salem, his sons, Alexander Couto of Peabody and Francis Couto and his wife Julie of Danvers, his grandchildren, AJ, Gabi, Janelle, Alexis and Cameron, his two brothers and two sisters and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Anne Marie Couto.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held from O'Donnell - Cremations - Funerals - Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (At Salem Common) Salem, Friday, July 24th at 10 A.M. followed by his funeral Mass in St. John the Baptist Church, Chestnut St., Peabody at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited. Entombment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem in the Couto Family Mausoleum. Visiting hours Thursday, July 23rd from 4 to 7 P.M. All attendees are required to wear face coverings, practice social distancing and are respectfully asked for no physical contact with the family.
