DANVERS - Mrs. Aphrodite “Effie” Xerras, 86 of Danvers, formerly of Peabody, passed away peacefully at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Sunday, September 3rd, 2023 with her loving family by her side.
Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Christos and Olga (Steriou) Xerras. She was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School.
Effie served her community and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the Peabody District Court where she was an Administrative Supervisor for over 30 years. She was well known throughout the community and beyond. She was admired for her dedication and respected for her knowledge and leadership skills. Effie was often sought-after for her expertise in her field and the one to go to when you needed something answered. She interacted with court personnel, lawyers, law enforcement agencies, state agencies and the public, it was no wonder Effie could rarely go anywhere without knowing somebody.
A loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, family was most important to her and gave her the most joy. She was very active in her children’s lives and was over the moon when the grandchildren came along. Effie was outgoing, funny and a social butterfly. She loved going to lunch with her Golden Girls, friends she had know for years. She never turned down a shopping adventure, an adored taking her chances with scratch tickets. Respected, devoted, and loved are how Effie will be remembered and deeply missed by her loving family and all the hearts she touched along the way.
Surviving Effie are her children, Christine Andricopoulos Di Franco of Hamilton, and Andrew Andricopoulos of Peabody, her grandchildren, Andrew Andricopoulos and his wife, Haley of Reading, Steven Andricopoulos of Atkinson, NH, Joseph Di Franco of East Boston and Sydnie Di Franco of Hamilton, her brothers, Spiros Xerras, Socrates Xerras and his wife, Bessie and Achilles Xerras and his wife, Stacia and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours at O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS on Monday, September 11th, 2023 from 10 AM – 12 (Noon).
