PEABODY – Mrs. Barbara Irene (Kenney) Crowe, 92 of Peabody, longtime resident of Topsfield and loving wife of the late George A. Crowe passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at her home.
Born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada; Barbara was the daughter of the late George W. and Christine V. (Prebble) Kenney. Raised and educated in Canada, Barbara graduated high school and continued her education at Acadia University.
Barbara married George Crowe in 1949, creating a beautiful and loving family. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Barbara’s life goal was to provide a warm and loving home for her family. As a mother, she supported her children and their activities as she was a former Girl Scout Leader and Den Mother.
Later in life, Barbara delighted in her own interests of golfing, a deep love for the game of bridge; which she played right until her final days, reading and traveling. Active in the New Meadows golfing community, Barbara was a past President of the New Meadows Over Par Golf League and was also active in the New Meadows Garden Club. She enjoyed traveling especially to many different countries. Barbara and George resided in the Countryside Golfing community of Naples, Florida, where they also enjoyed a good round of golf and their many friendships. Proud of her Canadian heritage, Barbara was also a member of The Mayflower Society. Above all else, she loved her family and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Barbara is survived by her four children, Stephen Crowe (Linda), Sharon Walsh (Brian), Michael Crowe (Beth), Heather Conner (Ryan); eleven grandchildren, Stephanie Masse, David Crowe, Jonathan Crowe, Kelly Fogg, Jessie Fernandez, Christopher Crowe, Nikki Crowe, Thomas Crowe, Christine Conner, Matthew Crowe and Jennifer Conner; and twelve great grandchildren, Bella, Aaliyah, Vincent, Lilly, Eloise, Sophia, Wesley, Brooks, Julian, Daniela, Maple and Camila.
