Barbara Garabedian Obituary

SALEM – Mrs. Barbara A. Garabedian 82, of Salem, beloved wife of the late Harry Garabedian, died Friday, August 27th, 2021 at the Lafayette Nursing Home in Marblehead.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late John and Pauline (D’Amour) Sosnowski. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1956 where she was an honor student and graduated 13th in her class.

Mrs. Garabedian had been employed with the United States Government, Social Security Department for over 30 years until the time of her retirement.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Barbara was devoted to her family. She was an avid golfer and relished in the time spent on the links playing alongside her beloved husband, Harry. Family was always first in her life and she took great pride in all of the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She was an especially loving and doting Nana. Barbara loved to listen to her rock ‘n roll music, had a great sense of humor and she loved her Thursday nights out with her girlfriends. She was a true matriarch for her family and will be deeply missed.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Michele Buzzi and her husband, Andrew of Newtown, CT, her son, Scott Garabedian and his wife, Cheech of Salem, her beloved grandchildren, Melissa, Doug, Harrison, Rachel and Andrew and her great grandson, Will, her sister-in-law, Rose Gentile and her niece, Karen.
