Barbara A. Hansbury

PEABODY – Ms. Barbara Ann “Barbie” Hansbury 62, of Peabody, died peacefully November 21st, 2022 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of Barbara (Szczechowicz) and the late Robert Hansbury of Peabody. She was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody Veterans Memorial High School.

She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a member of St. John the Baptist Church. In her younger years, she loved music and going to concerts. Barbie was very artistic and enjoyed ceramics and was very talented in writing poetry. She donated her time to various charities in the Peabody community. Barbara loved spending time with the family dogs throughout the years.

Above all else, family was at the heart of who Barbara was. She was a loving mom, grandmother, sister and aunt. Her soft-spoken, loving nature will be remembered fondly by her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.

Barbara was the loving mother of Ronnie Smithers of Lynn, MA, Erica Tanguay and her husband, Gregg of Pelham, NH; the cherished grandmother of Jordan and Hailey Tanguay and Shane Smithers; dear sister of Pamela Hansbury, Julie Mulherin and Holly Nadeau, and caring aunt to Mary, Amanda and Katie Mulherin, Britny Emery, Alysa Pare, Karissa Dunn and Madisyn Emery. She will also be missed by her loving dog Pippy.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Service which will be held at O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) DANVERS, Wednesday, Nov. 30th at 6:30 P.M. Visiting hours prior to the service from 4 to 6 P.M.  In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Haven for Hunger (Citizen’s Inn) or a charity of your choice.
