Barry Watson Obituary

TOPSFIELD – Mr. Barry E. Watson, 57 of Topsfield, beloved husband of late Deborah J. (Harris) Watson, passed away peacefully at Beverly Hospital with his family by his side.

He was the son of Margaret M. (Macaulay) Watson and the late Frank A. Watson. Raised and educated in Topsfield, Barry was a graduate of Masconomet High School class of 1981 where he met his high school sweetheart, love of his life and best friend, Debbie. Together they would marry for over 30 years and create a beautiful life and family.

A talented mason, Barry owned and operated Watson Masonry alongside his father for over 30 years. His craftmanship was respected by the many communities of the North Shore. Countless residential and commercial fireplaces, chimneys, tile projects and more stand as legacies to his career. A skill he learned at a young age; Barry dedicated his entire professional career to the industry until the time of his illness.

A true family man, Barry was happiest with his wife, daughters and family by his side. He was a loyal and supportive father who protected his family at all costs and loved his sons-in-law if they were his own. Spending time with his granddaughter was a highlight of his life; she brought him so much joy during a time of sadness. Those who knew him took his rough exterior with a grain of salt knowing deep down he was an emotional soul. Barry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his mother, Margaret Watson of Topsfield, Barry is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Watson Yaeger and her husband Matthew of Manchester, NH and Kimbery Watson Boya and her husband Ryan of Hudson, his granddaughter, Kimberly “peanut” Yaeger, siblings, Philip Watson and his wife Dawn of Amesbury, Cindy Osborne and her husband Gary of Greer, SC and Rachel Forstot and her husband Adam of Simpsonville, SC, his mother-in-law Joan Harris, sister-in-law Paula Harris, brother-in-law Timothy Harris and many nieces and nephews.
