TOPSFIELD- Miss Brittany Rose Petrillo, 20, of Topsfield, died Monday, July 13th, 2015 at Children's Hospital in Boston surrounded by her loving family following her courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of Susan (Barry) Schickling of Topsfield and Mark James Petrillo of Lynnfield. She was raised and educated in Boxford and was a graduate of Masconomet Regional High School, class of 2012. She continued her education at Mount Ida College in Newton in the Veterinary Technical School, until her illness worsened. She was awarded the prestigious Presidential Scholarship for her dedication to her academics. In Brittany's short life she touched many people. She had been employed as a server at Brooksby Village in Peabody. She was also a volunteer at Windrush Farm in Boxford, helping special needs children and adults find a connection and love of horses. This was a great passion of Britt's; to use her knowledge of horses to therapeutically help those in need. She made a boundless impact on those she served. Brittany had an artistic soul and shared her gifts through her art-work and singing. She was a talented vocalist, writer, and drawer. She had a deep affection for animals, especially horses and for many years she kept her own horse and rode daily. Brittany loved her feline companions and was looking forward to helping all animals in need through her future life's work. She was an avid reader and had a true passion for Harry Potter novels and films and all of Disney's productions, most especially The Lion King. She was a loving, selfless, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend who will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. Brittany is survived by her loving mother and step-father, Susan (Barry) Schickling and Christian Schickling of Topsfield, her devoted father and his fiancé, Mark Petrillo and Melissa Poverchuk of Lynnfield, her caring sisters, Kelly Petrillo of Boston, Kimberly Petrillo of Topsfield and Molly Petrillo of Topsfield, her aunts and uncles, Ann and Kevin Smith of Middletown, Ct., and Michael Barry and Wayne Hudson of Phoenix, Az., her step-grandmother Barbara Jaskela of Topsfield and many step aunts and uncles, cousins and extended family and friends. She was the paternal granddaughter of the late Louis and Elizabeth Petrillo and maternal granddaughter of the late James and Sally Barry.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Saturday, July 18th at 9 A.M. followed by her funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 17 Grove St., Lynnfield at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours Friday, July 17th from 4 to 7 P.M.
