DANVERS – Mr. Bruce D. Hamilton 66, a life-long resident of Danvers, beloved husband to Louise A. Cox, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22nd, 2024, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Danvers, he was the son of the late Austin and Catherine (Halupowski) Hamilton, he was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Essex Agricultural School. Bruce continued his education, ultimately earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Throughout his professional life, Bruce dedicated himself to his work at High Liner Foods, where he excelled as a Sample Specialist in the frozen seafood industry. His expertise and strong work ethic were his hallmark throughout his 30 years of dedicated service to the company.
His passions in life were evident as he found joy in skiing Tuckerman Ravine, hunting, fishing, and boating. Known for his quiet and contemplative nature, he was a man of few words but well versed on a variety of subjects which he would share with family and friends. His greatest joy was his family, he was a loving partner, brother, uncle, and friend who maintained a positive outlook through life’s many ups and downs which brought great comfort to them. Bruce will be deeply missed for the impact he had on all those who knew and loved him.
Surviving Bruce, in addition to Louise, are his siblings, Marsha (Urbanski) Walor and her husband, Walter of Margate, Fl, and Peter Urbanski and his wife, Nancy of Jay, ME, his sister-in-law, Judith (Moulton) Urbanski of Danvers and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also the brother of the late Sandra (Urbanski) Salkins and Barry Urbanski.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Celebration of Bruce’s life will be held at a later date. Assisting the family with the arrangements is O’Donnell – Cremation – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St. (Rte 62) DANVERS. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Bruce Hamilton may be made to Mass General Cancer Center in support of Dr. Edwin Choy’s GIST research.
