BEVERLY- Mrs. Candace Claire (Burns) MacLaughlin 61, of Beverly, formerly of Gloucester and Reading, beloved wife of the late Robert MacLaughlin died, Thursday, December 19th, 2013 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late George and Eleanor Burns. She was raised and educated in Reading and was a graduate of Reading High School and continued her education at Salem State College.

Mrs. MacLaughlin had been employed as an Event Coordinator for many years at International Desalination Association of Topsfield. Up until the time of her illness she had been employed in the advertising department for the Gloucester Times of the North of Boston Media Group.

Candace was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who enjoyed exercise and keeping in optimal shape. She was an avid traveler and reader. She loved spending time taking in the scenic vistas of the beaches of the North Shore. She was a dedicated to her family and will be deeply missed.

Candace is survived by her daughter, Meghan Randall and her husband Roger of Frisco, Texas, her son Ian MacLaughlin of Beverly, her grandchildren, Wynn and Claire Randall, her sister, Lenore Sweet of Maple Grove, Minn, her brothers, Richard "Dick" Burns and his wife Jean of Groveland and Michael Burns and his wife Darlene of Groton, her mother-in-law, Marion MacLaughlin of Reading, her brother-in-law Glenn MacLaughlin and his wife Linda of Chelmsford and several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours in The O'Donnell Funeral Home 46 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem, Friday, December 27th, from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Boxford at 2 P.M. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Candace's memory to the Sawtelle Family Hospice House, 320 Haverhill St., Reading, MA 01867.
