PEABODY – Ms. Carolyn Joan (Pachesa) Golden, 77 of Peabody, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Care One in Peabody.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Anthony J. Pachesa and Caroline T. (Jeski) Pachesa. Raised and educated in Manchester, Connecticut, she graduated from Manchester High School in 1962 and continued her education at Mount Ida College in Newton, Massachusetts, where she received her associate degree in 1964. As a lifelong learner and working mother, Carolyn continued her education at Boston College, receiving her bachelor's degree in 1988, followed by her master's degree in 1992, being an extremely proud Boston College double Eagle!
Carolyn devoted her professional career to various mental health organizations, working as a psychotherapist for over 20 years until the time of her retirement. A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, Carolyn was all about her family. She took great pride in raising her four children, encouraging them in their many endeavors and was exceptionally proud of her grandchildren. She was an avid reader, enjoyed word searches and was truly happiest with her dogs on her lap. She was a loving woman who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Carolyn is survived by her children: Elizabeth (Lisa) Golden and her wife Evelyn Oquendo of Swampscott, Jennifer Caracoglia and her husband Michael of Derry, NH, John J. Golden III of VA and Matthew B. Golden of Peabody, her grandchildren: James Caracoglia and his partner Jerod of VA, Noah Caracoglia and his wife Isabelle of IN and Desirae Caracoglia of Derry, NH, the father of her children, John J. Golden, Jr. of VA and her beloved dogs, Sam and Sheba. In addition to her parents, Anthony and Caroline Pachesa, Carolyn was predeceased by her brother Robert W. Pachesa.
ARRANGEMENTS: Carolyn’s Memorial Celebration will be held at O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem, Friday, October 22nd from 3 to 6 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited and are kindly asked to wear face coverings.
