David B. Connelly

TOPSFIELD - Mr. David B. Connelly, 67 of Topsfield, beloved husband of Kaye (Renaud) Connelly passed away on Sunday, December 12th, 2021, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston surrounded by his loving family

Born in Beverly, he was the son of Shirley (Stevens) Connelly and the late Thomas Connelly. He was raised and educated in Bermuda and Topsfield and was a graduate of Masconomet Regional High School.

A retired Topsfield Police Officer, David served the Town of Topsfield for over 19 years. He served with the utmost integrity, professionalism and compassion.  He was well known and respected throughout the community as someone who could be counted on to assist those in need, offer a kind word, support or a guiding hand. He truly lived to protect and serve.

A devoted husband, proud father, and adoring grandfather. David’s family meant everything to him. He was truly happiest when surrounded by his family, whether it was camping, traveling, fishing or enjoying the lakes in Ossipee or Lake Winnipsaukee. It didn’t matter what they were doing, it was most important that they were together. Dave was at his best hosting get together’s and dining out with friends, he was never at a loss for words and was usually the funniest guy in the group. Hearing others laughing and having a good time gave him joy. David was very excited when the grandchildren came along; he took every opportunity to be with them and spoil them, when he could get away with it.  He will always be remembered for his dedication to his community, his love for his family and friends and deeply missed by those who loved him and had the honor to know him.

Surviving David, in addition to his wife, Kaye with whom he shared 47 years of marriage and his mother, Shirley, are his children, Jennifer Harrington of Haverhill, Melissa Mazola and her husband, Will of Pelham, NH and Adam Connelly and his partner, Heather Huckins of Topsfield, his grandchildren, Alexander, Madalyn, Morgan, Noah and Skylar Harrington, his brother, Mark Connelly of Florida.

ARRANGEMENTS: A Celebration of David’s life will be held on Tuesday January 11th, 2022 at Supino’s Restaurant, 250 Newbury St., Danvers at 11:30 A.M.
