Diane Garro Obituary

SALEM – Mrs. Diane Marie (Drebit) Garro 65, of Salem, beloved wife of Anthony Leo Garro, died peacefully August 25th, 2021 at her home with her loving family by her side.

Born in Wakefield, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Alvina (Nardone) Drebit. She was raised and educate in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School.

Mrs. Garro had been employed as a Plant and Horticulture Specialist at the Home Depot in Salem for 19 years until the time of her illness. She considered her colleagues at Home Depot her second family. She was well respected by customers and colleagues alike for her professional acumen and dedication to her career.

A loving wife, mother, sister and aunt, Diane was devoted to her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, motorcycling and tackling many D.I.Y projects. She was quite talented with her hands. The more difficult the project the better the results when Diane was involved. If there was a problem, she solved it and always found the answer when you were in need. She was confident, independent, strong willed and fiercely loyal. She truly had a heart of gold and was utterly devoted to her beloved husband and daughter. She had a passion for animals, a beautiful smile and always gave the best advice, whether you asked for it or not. She cared deeply for all in her world and will be deeply missed.

Diane is survived by her loving husband of 14 years, Tony Garro of Salem, her daughter, Lisa Connell and her fiancé, Matthew DeGennaro of Haverhill, her son, Anthony K. Garro of Lynn, her sister, Mary Jacobson of Hampstead, N.H., her brother, Stephen Drebit and his wife Debbie of Wakefield and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
