LYNN - Mrs. Dianne M. (Granville) Spilman, 82 of Lynn, formerly of Salem and Peabody, beloved wife of the late James Spilman, passed away on Wednesday, January 18th, 2023 at Salem Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Woburn, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mildred (Santarella) Granville. She was raised in the Gallows Hill neighborhood in Salem eventually moving to Peabody where she attended Peabody Veterans Memorial High School.
Mrs. Spilman had been employed at Salem Hospital in their house keeping department for over 25 years of dedicated service until the time of her retirement.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Dianne’s family were the center of her world. When she wasn’t working outside the home, Dianne spent her time caring for her children. She was very involved in their many activities and proud of their many accomplishments. Dianne thrived on the daily hustle and bustle that a large family can create. Through patience and determination she was able to control the many personalities and create a balance within her family. She persevered through good times as well as bad, always with her family by her side. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Surviving Dianne are her sons, Michael Granville and John Spilman, her daughters, Donna Mahar, Kathleen Spilman and Dianne Spilman, her twin sister, Delores Davis, sisters, Kathy Dunham and Elaine Rogers, her brother, Robert Granville, her 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren and 7 nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late James W. Spilman, James Robert, Jr., and Karen Spilman.
ARRANGMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Service which will be held in O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM on Friday, January 27th at 10 A.M. Burial in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Thursday, January 26th from 4 to 7 P.M.
