BEVERLY - Donna Marie Fitzgerald, age 68, passed away following a courageous battle with cancer on September 23, 2020 at the Kaplan Hospice House. Born in Battle Creek, Michigan and raised in Salem, MA to the late Lincoln and Madeline (Hobbs) Davis.
She graduated Salem High School in 1969 and received her degree at North Shore Community College in 1971. After graduating she worked at Massachusetts General Hospital for the head of Neuro-Surgery then proceeded on to working at Beverly Hospital as a Medical Transcriptionist for over 20 years. In her retirement, she found great joy being an “office mom” at the Law Offices of Litchfield Cavo, LLP.
Donna loved to travel and visit new places. She was an avid reader and liked to watch her Hallmark and mystery movies. She loved spending every moment she possibly could with her grandchildren and family. She was known for her kind heart, compassionate spirit, positive attitude and always had a smile on her face.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Richard “Rick” Fitzgerald, her daughter Katie Symonds and her husband Brian, granddaughters Brianna and Sophia. She is also survived by her sisters, Lorrie Goudreau of Peabody, MA; Paula Schena of NH; Madeline “Maddy” Davis of Beverly, MA; Kathy Davis of Beverly, MA; and her late brother Lincoln “Sunny” Davis. Donna was blessed with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., Danvers, MA 01923 on Tuesday, September 29th from 10 A.M. – 12 PM (Noon). All other services are private. All attendees are required to wear face coverings, practice social distancing and are respectfully asked for no physical contact with the family.
