SALISBURY – Mrs. Doris Hill (Midgley) Dyke, 89 of Salisbury, beloved wife of the late James Dyke, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the Port Healthcare Center in Newburyport.
Raised and educated in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Doris was the daughter of the late Eric and Doris (Hill) Midgley. She attended high school in Rhode Island and upon her marriage to James, the two relocated to Danvers to provide a nurturing and loving home for their family.
A longtime resident of the Town of Danvers and later in life, Salisbury; Doris delighted in providing for her family as a loving wife, mom, grammy and sister. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and her sister Marjorie especially when visiting Maine and Florida and enjoying the states in between. Doris summered with her family in their camp on Silver Lake in Tilton, New Hampshire and would always find the time to enjoy a nice shopping trip. Her kind and loving soul will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Doris is survived by her son, Gary B. Dyke and his wife, Deborah of Newburyport; her daughters-in-law, Diane Dyke of Belmont, NH and Pamela Mobry of Marblehead; her son-in-law, David Brown of Keene, NH; her grandchildren, Eric, Hilary, Elizabeth and William Dyke, Sarah Fitz, Kimberley McDermott, Heather Irving and Jaclyn Brown and many great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Carolyn (Dyke) Brown, Neil W. Dyke and James Eric Dyke; grandmother of the late Joshua and Jennifer Dyke and sister of the late Marjorie Clarke, Virginia Stewart and Robert Midgley.
