WORCESTER - Douglas Bardwell Salmon, age 57, passed Tuesday, March 23, 2021 after a period of declining health, the result of a stroke in 2009. He was the devoted, loving son of Cynthia and Bardwell Salmon, of Peabody, MA (formerly Groton and Weston, MA). Doug was born in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, March 23, 1964. He graduated as an Electrical Engineer from Northeastern University, then expanded his expertise with an MBA from Babson College.
Doug launched his professional career as a sales engineer, accelerated into management and eventually achieved North American Sales Director. Following his entrepreneurial spirit, Doug left the semi-conductor industry and delved into the stock market full time. Through trials and tribulations, Doug acquired the knowledge and skill to excel in his stock market ventures.
An outdoor sports enthusiast, Doug started as a young child playing Ice Hockey and Skiing with the family. During his school years he added soccer, wrestling, and rugby to his skill set. He enjoyed boating, including tubing, water skiing, and scuba diving for lobsters with dad. Doug had a flair for vacationing in warm weather venues, especially with his close friends. Most recently, Doug developed a joy for cooking and sharing that experience with family.
He is survived by his parents, Cindy and Bard Salmon; sister, Cheri (Salmon) Wyatt and husband, David of Amherst, NH; nephews ,Chris Gordon and AJ Gordon both from Groton, MA; niece Jaclyn (Gordon) Shaban, husband Bradford and their daughter, Charlotte of Moseley, VA. Doug will be deeply missed by those whose lives he has touched.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend Doug’s Memorial Service, to be held at the Chapel at Brooksby Village, Brooksby Village Dr., Peabody, May 15th at 3 P.M. The Service will be Tribucast (Livestreamed).
