GEORGETOWN – Ms. Edith “Mickey” (Aiken) Ratte, 88 of Georgetown, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 29th, 2024 in the comfort of her home, with her family by her side.
Born in Peabody, Edith, fondly known as Mickey to family and friends was the daughter of the late Arthur F. and Norma (Fessenden) Aiken. She was raised and educated in Peabody, graduating from Peabody High School and continued her education at Cambridge College where she received her master’s degree in education.
Mickey devoted her life to helping others, through community outreach programs such as the North Shore Council on Alcohol and Gloucester Prevention Network and her professional career as an educator at Hamilton Wenham High School. She will be deeply missed.
Mickey is survived by her sons, Michael Ratte and his wife, Donna of Georgetown and Scott Ratte of Beverly; grandchildren, Danielle Richard and her husband, Daniel of Seabrook, NH and Jessica Russell of Dallas, TX; great-grandchildren, Neveah and Kaiah Richard and her sister, Dorothy Belben.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mickey’s funeral service which will be held at First Parish Church of Beverly, Unitarian – Universalist, 225 Cabot St., Beverly on Friday, April 12th at 10 A.M. followed by her burial at Oakdale Cemetery, Middleton. Visiting hours will be held at O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS on Wednesday, April 10th from 4 to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mickey’s memory may be made to the First Parish Church of Beverly, Unitarian – Universalist, 225 Cabot St., Beverly, MA 01915.
