PEABODY- Mr. Edward Jarzynka 76, of Peabody, beloved husband of the late Kay Jarzynka (Auger) and the late Patricia (DeMala) Jarzynka, died Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Massachusetts General Hospital following a brief illness, surrounded by his family.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Stanislaw and Mary (Jablonska) Jarzynka. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School.
Mr. Jarzynka began his professional career in the automotive industry, where he kept everyone on their toes. He returned to Salem and for many years he had been employed in the leather industry of which he was proud to keep the industry running so smoothly. He took great pride in keeping the schools in Peabody clean and he truly enjoyed his retirement.
Ed was an avid gardener; he loved horse racing, horse shoes and giving neighbors a hand. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren and he will be deeply missed.
Ed is survived by his children, David Jarzynka and his wife Jennifer of Sudbury, Debra Grasso and her husband Stephen of Newburyport and Mary Harrington of Virginia and Julie Harrington of New York, his grandchildren, Matthew and Tricia Grasso and Katelin and Trevor Jarzynka, his sister in law, Joan Jarzynka, his nieces and nephews, Debbie Green, Bill Jarzynka and John LeDuc and extended family. He was also the brother of the late Victoria Lovato, Jean Leduc, Raymond, Chester, Henry and Theodore Jarzynka.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held from The O'Donnell Funeral Home 46 Washington Sq., (At Salem Common) Salem, Saturday at 9 A.M. followed by his funeral Mass in St. Ann's Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours Friday from 4 to 8 P.M.
