SALEM- Mrs. Elaine Leinaala (Ahu) Dailey of Salem passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at home with family by her side, following a lengthy battle with dementia and heart disease.
She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence O. Dailey. Elaine was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on January 14, 1932, daughter of the late William Hoopii Ahu and Lillian Koleka Kahekili. She attended Hawaii public schools and graduated from Pahala High School. She served in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged in December 1952.
Surviving Elaine are her children, their spouses and grandchildren: Robin Yeung and husband Toddy of Peabody, Glenn and late wife Sandra (Gagnon), grandson Jason and great-grandson Noah of Salem, Laurie Michaud and husband Doug, grandsons, Craig and Justin of Peabody, Alison Gagnon and husband Nelson, grandsons, Matthew and Derek of Peabody, Malia Rowe and husband Brian, grand-daughters Chelsea and Samantha of Peabody, predeceased by her son, Michael of Salem. She is survived by her sister, Adriene Kainalu Ahu of Hilo, Hawaii. She is predeceased by her sister, Kuulei and husband John Kepaa, sister, Kimela and husband Samuel Kalua, her brother John Hoopii Ahu and wife Edna, brother Benjamin Kamoku Ahu and wife Luana. She leaves many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Graveside services will be held privately. A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.
