DANVERS – Mrs. Eleanor Ruth (Bailey) Corson, 92 of Danvers, loving wife of the late Meldean “Mel” Corson passed away peacefully on Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Ledgewood Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Beverly.
Born in Waterbury, Connecticut, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Raymond E. and Charlotte (Goff) Bailey. Raised and educated in Barrington, New Hampshire, Eleanor graduated high school and continued her education at the New England Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Boston.
Mrs. Corson dedicated her life to her family and her career. As a loving wife and nurturing mother, Eleanor’s profession as a Registered Nurse truly came naturally to her. Working nearly her entire professional career at Beverly Hospital, Eleanor started her career as a maternity nurse, dedicating the remainder of her career to IV Therapy, eventually matriculating to the department manager for several years; retiring from the hospital at the age of 81.
A woman with great strengths, beliefs and values, Eleanor truly inspired her family. As her children grew, Eleanor supplied them with talentedly sewn clothing. She enjoyed life with her husband Mel, square dancing, camping with their children and traveling to Florida every April with friends. After her husband’s passing, Eleanor continued to learn new skills, travelled the world; visiting Europe, China and Alaska and was active in the Danvers Senior Center enjoying her many friendships. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and dear friends.
Eleanor is survived by her brother, Earl Bailey of FL, her daughters, Donna Emmith of Danvers and Deborah Milroy of Newbury, her 5 grandchildren, Carrie, Kimberly, Katelyn, Jessica and Joshua, as well as her 4 great-grandchildren, Kayden, Zoe, Taylor and Paislee.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend Eleanor’s funeral service which will be held in O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS on Thursday, November 4th at 9A.M. Visiting hours are on Wednesday, November 3rd from 4 to 6 P.M. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Barrington, NH is private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eleanor’s memory may be made to the Danvers Senior Center, 25 Stone Street, Danvers MA, 01923.
