PEABODY-Elizabeth Thomson Boepple, 96, of Peabody, formerly of Carle Place, New York, beloved wife of the late Alfred J. Boepple, died March 28th, 2013 at Brooksby Village in Peabody surrounded by her family.
Born in New York City, she was raised in Brooklyn and Queens, graduating from Richmond Hills High School at the age of 15 before going on to attend secretarial school. Elizabeth worked at the Dime Savings Bank of Brooklyn and later at Macy's department store in Roosevelt Field on Long Island where she served as a retail manager and trainer.
Elizabeth and Al married following his discharge from the Army and moved to Carle Place, a small hamlet in Nassau County, in 1953 to raise their young family. Elizabeth lived there until 2007 when she moved to Brooksby Village. An avid reader of history and mystery novels, Elizabeth also had a true love of music; she was a long time member of the choir at the Westbury Methodist Church on Long Island.
Elizabeth is survived by her two sons, John Thomson Boepple and his wife Colleen of Wilton, CT and Paul Alfred Boepple and his wife Wendy of Topsfield. She dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her eight grandchildren: Justin, Heather, Andrew, and Benjamin are Paul and Wendy's children; Brendan, Ryan, Courtney, and Megan are the children of John and Colleen.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral services are private. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Rte 62) Danvers. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Elizabeth's memory to the Special Olympics of Massachusetts, The Yawkey Sports Training Center, 512 Forest Street, Marlborough, MA 01752; www.specialolympicsma.org .
