SALEM- Ms. Elizabeth M. "Betté" Cronin, just nine days short of her 87th birthday, passed away Monday July 6, 2015 at Salem Hospital with her loving daughter by her side.

Born in Peabody, July 15, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Daniel J. and Elizabeth M. (Ronan) Cronin. Raised and educated in Salem attending St Mary's grammar school, she was a graduate of Salem High School where she was a Drum Majorette.

Betté had been employed at Danvers State Hospital prior to establishing a career with Northeast Airlines and Delta Airlines. She was the manager of tickets and reservations at Logan Airport for many years and also spent time at LAX in Los Angeles and JFK in New York.

Betté also worked at the Lakeview Motor Lodge now Beverly Garden Suites in Beverly as the office manager representing the motel at local Chamber of Commerce functions.

Well known throughout the local country music scene as "Betté Feathers" she emceed open mic night at the Blue Star in Saugus with the John Penny Band. She also enjoyed travelling to Indian Ranch, Webster, Mass and Hastings, Nebraska to emcee rising stars talent shows.

A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother she will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends.

Betté is survived by her daughter Maryjane "MJ" Golson with whom she resided. Bette and MJ appreciated each other's quick wit and sense of humor. They spent most of their time together making each other laugh. In addition she is survived by her two granddaughters, Elizabeth "Beth" Blomquist and her husband Eric and Alyson Mealey, her four great-grandchildren, Ryan and Regan Blomquist and Chyler and Hunter Mealey, her former son-in-law Tom Mealey and Tucker the family dog, Betté's daytime companion while MJ was at work. Additionally she is survived her sister-in-law Paula Cronin and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Daniel "Tony" Cronin, Donald "Skinny" Cronin, her son-in-law, Tom Kobuszewski, her step-father, Lloyd "Hap" Stanley and her former husband Charles Golson.

ARRANGEMENTS: At the request of the family all services will be private. Expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of one's choice.
