DANVERS – Mrs. Elsie L. (Crossman) MacKinnon, 99, of Danvers, beloved wife of the late Daniel G. MacKinnon, died peacefully, July 16, 2020 at her home with her family at her side.
Born in Petitcodiac, New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Cora Crossman. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of the former Holten High School in Danvers as a member of the class of 1939.
Mrs. MacKinnon began her professional career with the former CBS Hytron of Danvers. She worked at GTE Sylvania and for many years had been employed with the Hotwatt Company of Danvers as a Lead Hand in Assembly until the time of her retirement. She was well respected for her professional acumen.
Elsie was a lifelong, active member of the First Baptist Church of Danvers. Her life was centered around her church and her family. She was a member of the Baptist Bells and was a member of the Danvers Bowling League for many years. In her retirement years, she was forever found with her word search puzzles and admiring her gardens of flowers. Her gardens were her pride and joy and it was often noticed that she had the best-looking flower gardens in the neighborhood. Above all else, her family always came first. She was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones and enjoyed every moment spent with her family. She was truly a kind and loving soul.
Elsie is survived by her daughter, Nancy Victorine of Beverly, her grandchildren, Eric Victorine and his companion, Stacey Hooper of Danvers, Aarne Victorine and his companion, Tracy Putnam of Woburn, Kate Powers of Beverly and Shawn Pettipas of Spring Hill, Fl, her great grandchildren, Devonne Moore, Mason Victorine, Justice Patricko, Angela Ward, Christopher Pettipas, Blake Pettipas, Dru Pettipas, Julie Coates and Shayne “Josh” Powers, her four great, great, grandchildren, Haleigh, Liam, Keara and Aria, her sister, Evelyn Harris of Danvers, a niece, two nephews and many extended family and friends. She was the mother of the late Diana Pettipas, grandmother of the late Darlene Pettipas and sister of the late Everett and Lester Crossman.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held in the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Tuesday, July 21st at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Holten Cemetery, Danvers. Visiting hours prior to the service from 9 to 11 A.M. All attendees are required to wear face coverings, practice social distancing and are respectfully asked for no physical contact with the family.
