Obituary

DANVERS - Eunice Evelyn (King) Macdonald, at the age of 92, Eunice died peacefully in the comforting presence of her family.

Eunice was the beloved wife of Nathaniel Macdonald MD for 68 years. Childhood sweethearts, they met in Danvers, in their teens, and went on to marry and raise their children there. She was proud of her family and loved any opportunity to tell others of their accomplishments. She adored Nat and they were so rarely apart that their children cannot recall that they were separated more than a few times in their first 65 year of marriage. She instilled in her children the importance of family in a warm and loving home and through their loving example of marriage.

Eunice and Nat loved to play golf in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Florida. Her claim to fame was her hole in one. She loved to jitterbug and to shop for herself and others. Eunice loved to entertain her children and grandchildren and created many memories for them, especially on the fourth of July at the lake and Thanksgiving and Christmas at their Massachusetts home.

She will be lovingly missed by her four children and their spouses; Deborah (Harry) Ritchie, Douglas (Cheryl) Macdonald, Barbara (Barry) Crommett, Natalie (William) Whelan, and her 11 loving grandchildren and their spouses; Katie (Greg) Salois, Scott (Kelly) Macdonald, Becky (Ryan) Murphy, Peter (Liz) Crommett, Matthew (Sophie) Crommett, JB (Ashley) Macdonald, Amanda (Ben) Farrer, Mari Crommett, Kevin Whelan, Jack Whelan, and Kellie Macdonald and her great grandchildren; Austin, Grady, Shea, Nathaniel, Will, Marshall, and Madeleine.

Eunice leaves behind her husband Nathaniel who lovingly cared for her until she was 89. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Jane King and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Elinor, Stafford and wife Ruth, Barbara, and Bruce King; and nephew Randy and her granddaughter Courtney.

The family would like to thank the kind caregivers at the Atrium and especially her hospice nurses from Care Dimensions.
