PEABODY- Ms. Evelyn Mildred Ashman, 96, of Brooksby Village, Peabody, formerly of Danvers, died peacefully on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Brooksby Village.

Born in Malden, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Frederick A. and Georgietta (Phillipps) Ashman. She was raised and educated in Malden before moving to Melrose where she was a graduate of Melrose High School Class of 1939.

Prior to her retirement, Evelyn was employed as an Electronics Test Technician at the General Electric Co. in Lynn; a position she held for over 40 years.

Evelyn enjoyed billiards and was an avid bowler and sports fan, especially the Red Sox and Patriots. She loved spending time at her second home in New Hampshire, being outdoors, and gardening. Above all else, she was truly devoted to her family.

Evelyn leaves her nephews and niece: Earle Chesley and his wife Deborah, Everett Chesley and his wife Donna and Lexine Hoag. She is also survived by several great- nieces and nephews. She was the dear friend of the late Helena B. Wallace and beloved aunt of the late Allan Chesley, Ellen Filadoro and Henry Mahoney Jr.

She was predeceased by her silbings: Charlotte Mahoney, Dorothy Chesley, Frederick Ashman, Jr. and Eleanor Hoag.

ARRANGEMENTS- Her Funeral Service will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St. (Rte 62) Danvers on Tuesday, April 19th at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park. Visiting Hours Monday from 4 to 8 P.M.
