Obituary

SALEM – Mrs. Flerida Salazar Inoa 90, of Salem, beloved wife of Octavio Inoa Valdez, died peacefully, with her loving family by her side, May 13th, 2023 at her home.

Born in San Francisco, Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of the late Miguel and Aurelinda (Gomez) Salazar. She was raised and educated in the Dominican Republic.

Mrs. Salazar Inoa was the founder and proprietor of a retail store in the Dominican Republic. She spent many years operating the successful store until the time of her retirement.

Flerida immigrated to the United States in 2002, making Salem her forever home. She moved to be closer to her family as it was truly at the heart of whom she was. She was a loving wife, mami, abuela and friend to many. A woman of true class and courage, she endeared herself to many and showed her true bravery fighting her recent illness. She carried herself with such grace and dignity. Having a profound faith in God and as an active communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Salem, she committed herself to living a life for others.

With a kind and sweet demeanor, she endeared herself to many. She was ultimately proud of her family and all of their accomplishments. Supporting her four children and 10 grandchildren through all of their endeavors. She was truly happiest when surrounded by those she loved, either playing dominos, cooking or shopping. She was also artistically talented and shared her drawings with all. Flerida will be remembered for her commitment to her family and her faith. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.  

Flerida is survived by her husband, Octavio Inoa Valdez, her children, Johnny Ynoa and his wife, Vanessa, Juana Inoa and her husband, Tony, Yoleny Ynoa and his wife, Helen and Magic Ynoa all of Salem, her grandchildren, Vladimar, Marielis, Albenis, Reyna, Johanna, Annely, Jonathan, Yoliana, Joshua and Wascar, her 11 great grandchildren, her brother, Luis Salazar and many extended family and friends.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd., Salem, Friday, May 19th at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours at O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM, Thursday, May 18th from 5 to 8 P.M.
