Florence E. (Worrell) Travers

DANVERS – Mrs. Florence E. (Worrell) Travers, 91, beloved wife of the late Richard Travers Sr., died peacefully April 25, 2020 at Salem Hospital.

Born in Norwell, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Mary (Moffatt) Worrell. She was raised and educated in Boston.

Mrs. Travers dedicated her life to her family. She took great pride in providing a warm and loving home for her beloved husband and children. She supported her husband and family in all of their activities and was ultimately proud of their accomplishments. Later in life her love of fashion and working with people bloomed when she managed successfully several Rooks Clothing Stores on the North Shore.

Florence was known for her baking prowess and her ability to make delectable baked goods and will especially remembered for her delicious Lemon Meringue pie. Her favorite place was the Humarock Beach and she relished her yearly vacations. Her life took on a great new meaning when she became a Grammi. Her world revolved around her beloved grandchildren and she had a special relationship with each one of them. She will be deeply missed.

Florence is survived by her daughters, Ann Marie Mulvee and her husband Richard of Bedford, NH, Elaine Abbondanza and her husband David of Pinckney, MI and Barbara Wright and her husband William of Pepperell, her sons, Paul Francis Travers and his wife Joanne of Ipswich and Richard J. Travers Jr and his wife Lynne of Topsfield, her 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, her brother Charles Worrell of Orlando, Fl and several cherished nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: The Travers family will be holding a celebration of Florence life at a future date to which all will be invited. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers.
