HAMILTON – Mrs. Gail Alice (Tipert) Burnham, 83 of Hamilton, beloved wife of the late Peter J. Burnham, died peacefully, Saturday, March 12 th , 2022 with her family by her side.
Born in Danvers, she was the daughter of the late Gardner and Alice (Mullarkey) Tipert. She grew up on The Tipert Family Farm, raised and educated in Danvers, and was a graduate of the former Holten High School, class of 1956.
Mrs. Burnham was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She dedicated her life to supporting her family in all of their endeavors. She worked at the Wenham Tea House over the years and loved her time spent there.
Gail and Peter spent nearly every possible moment together, side by side at Wenham events ranging from pancake breakfasts to Firemen's Musters. They spent weekends helping out at The Tipert Farm, traveling to their children's sporting events, and weekend trips to New Hampshire, Maine, and Padanaram. "Nana " was a fixture in the stands for years watching her grandchildren play sports, traveling to countless hockey rinks, football fields, basketball courts, and baseball diamonds including a stop in Cooperstown, New York.
A lifelong resident of the Town of Hamilton, she was the "matriarch" of Henderson's Café, enjoying the daily town gossip and laughing along with good friends. She was a member of the First Church in Wenham. Family and friends always came first to Gail and she will be deeply missed for her kind heart and sense of humor.
Gail is survived by her daughter, Susan Sylvia and her husband, Robert of Glastonbury, Ct, her son, Scott Burnham and his wife, Pattie of Gloucester, her grandchildren, Samantha Davidson, Peter Jonathan Burnham II, Robert Burnham, Jack Sylvia and Owen Sylvia, her great grandchildren, Rex, Rocky, Bizzy and Goldie Davidson, her brother, Leonard Tipert of Wenham and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) DANVERS, Saturday, March 19 th at 1:30 P.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Wenham Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday, March 18 th from 4 to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Gail's memory to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Ste.
