Garvin M Moore Jr.

PEABODY- Mr. Garvin M. Moore Jr., 93 of Brooksby Village, Peabody, beloved husband of Nancy (Hammond) Moore, died Monday, December 14, 2020 at his home.

Born in St. Petersburgh, Florida, he was the son of the late Garvin M. Moore Sr. and Annie (Lipscomb) Busch. He was raised and educated in Columbia, South Carolina and was a graduate of Columbia High School. He continued his education at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, earning his Bachelor’s Degree. He furthered his education earning his Master’s Degree from Northeastern University.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country proudly as a member of the United States Navy.

A dedicated and astute Electrical Engineer, Mr. Moore had been employed for over 34 years with the Raytheon Company until the time of his retirement in 1992.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, Garvin enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a steadfast member of the All Saints Episcopal Church family. A voracious reader and avid golfer, Garvin enjoyed playing Bridge in his later days. He was an active member of the Toastmasters. Above all else, family was his priority. He will be deeply missed.

Garvin is survived by his loving wife Nancy (Hammond) Moore of Peabody, his daughter, Judianne Gillis of Danvers, his son, James Moore of Dorchester, his grandchildren, Isobella and Aiden.

ARRANGEMENTS: A public celebration of Garvin's life will be held at the Chapel at Brooksby Village, Peabody, at a date and time to be announced in the future.
