DANVERS - Mr. Gary F. McEachern, 65, of Danvers, formerly of Gloucester, beloved husband of June (Etherington) McEachern, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 28th, 2023 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Gloucester, he was the son of the late Donald and Marion (Manning) McEachern. He was raised and educated in Gloucester and was a graduate of Gloucester High School.
Gary worked as an assistant store manager for Stop and Shop throughout the Northshore. He rose through the ranks to become an assistant manager through hard work, dedication, and strong work ethic. He remained with Stop and Shop until he was unable to continue working due to his health conditions.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Gary possessed a stoic demeanor and dry sense of humor. He always made sure his family knew how much he loved them, not always through words, but through his actions. He was immensely proud of his children, their many accomplishments, milestones and was a loving Grampy to his grandchildren. He enjoyed time spent at the family home on Province Lake in New Hampshire, boating and participating in many family activities. He remained strong for his family throughout his illness, and it is this strength they will hold dear. Gary loved hockey and enjoyed playing in his youth. He liked the beaches, the ocean and always had fond memories of growing up in the beautiful close-knit seaside community. Gary will be remembered for his strength and love of family and will be deeply missed by them.
Surviving Gary is his wife June, his daughters, Christy McEachern and her partner Nikki Lewis of Long Island, NY, Megan Hubbard and her husband Cory of Merrimac, his son, Kyle McEachern and his partner Hannah Gardner of Merrimac, his grandchildren, Olivia and Everlee Hubbard of Merrimac, his siblings, Sharon Crowley and her husband Jim of Gloucester, Lois Girard and her husband Rick of Essex and Glen McEachern and his wife Mariann Linquata of Gloucester, his canine companion and guardian Bradley and several nieces and nephews.
