TOPSFIELD- Mr. George Cravin Clements Jr. 86, formerly of Topsfield, beloved husband of Patricia Anne (Owens) Clements died Tuesday morning at the Bristol Medical Center in Bristol, Ct.

Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late George Cravin Sr. and Beula M. (McClain) Clements. He was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School.

An honorably discharged veteran, George served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II.

Mr. Clements had been employed with American Airlines as a flight Operations Technician until the time of his retirement in 1986.

A resident of the Town of Topsfield since the year 2000, George was the author of two books, "Creations in verse" and "A Voyage into Verse" both showing his passion and creativity toward the ocean and sailing. He was a member of the American Foreign Legion and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and Uncle who will be deeply missed.

In addition to his loving wife, George is survived by his daughter Cynthia Ann McAdoo and her husband Thomas of Plantsville, CT with whom he has resided with in the months before his death. He also leaves another daughter Martha Jean Glavic and her husband Edward of Younstown, Ohio, his twelve grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, his sister, Elizabeth Calhoon of Corpus Christy, Texas, his three brothers, Lawrence, Donald, and Robert Gray and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a son, George Dale Clements and a daughter Carol Lee Hernandez.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral home 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in George's memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
