BEVERLY - Mr. George "GW" Delp 81, of Beverly, beloved husband of the late Marion (Delp) Delp, died Friday, August 4, 2017. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late George H. and Pearl (Wren) Delp. He was raised and educated in Peabody and attended the Peabody School System. An honorably discharged veteran, George served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean War aboard the U.S.S. Midway. Mr. Delp had been employed as a shipper with the New England Sportswear Company for many years until the time of the companies closing. He had also been associated with the former St. Mary School in Beverly as a custodian and later in life worked as a crossing guard for the Landmark School in Beverly until the time of his retirement. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, George was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending his time fishing. He will be deeply missed. George is survived by his sons, Mark Delp and his wife Diane of Peabody, Michael Delp and his wife Mary of Revere, Chris Delp of San Diego, CA and Brian Delp of Worcester, his daughter, Karen Pelletier and her companion Alan Finkelstein of Peabody, his many grandchildren and great grandchildren, his sister Phyllis Endicott of Beverly and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Sheree Doherty, grandfather of the late Sarah Klein and brother of the late Bradley Delp and Dorothy Belleau.
ARRRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Blake Memorial Chapel of Harmony Grove Cemetery, 30 Grove St., Salem, Wednesday August 9th from 12 noon to 2 P.M. immediately followed by committal services. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers.
