Gracia A (White) Clemson

January 6, 1934 ~ August 28, 2021 (age 87)


TOPSFIELD – Mrs. Gracia A. Clemson 87, of Topsfield, beloved wife of the late Dr. Harry Carl Clemson, Phd, died Saturday, August 28th, 2021.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Henry T. and Marjorie (Clarke Macready) White. She was raised and educated in Warwick, RI and was a graduate of Lockwood High School. She continued her education at the University of Rhode Island earning her Bachelors degree. Later in life she would return to the classroom at Anna Maria University where she earned her Masters of Business Administration (MBA).

Mrs. Clemson worked in the health care industry her entire professional career. She began working at Emerson Hospital in Concord and matriculated to Beverly Hospital where she worked for many years earning the title of Administrative Director of the Medical Laboratory at the Hospital. She took great pride in her career and was well respected in her field for her attention to detail and leadership capabilities.

Gracia was a long-time resident of the Town of Topsfield and was an active member of the Congregational Church of Topsfield. She volunteered with the Triad and assisted with the North Shore Elders services and the Topsfield Council on aging. She was a kind and giving woman and often put others needs before her own.
Gracia and her beloved husband were avid sailors and members of the Jubilee Yacht Club of Beverly. She was an avid gardener and had a passion for animals. She could often be found walking her dogs almost every morning through out the neighborhood. Above all else she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Gracia is survived by her sons, Harry C. Clemson II and his wife, Lina of Maryland, Christian Henry Clemson of Topsfield and Eric Graf Clemson of Topsfield, her granddaughter, Emily E. Clemson and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Marjorie Moone and Henry T. White.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held in the Congregational Church of Topsfield, 9 East Common St., Topsfield, Friday, Sept. 3rd at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Topsfield. Visiting hours Thursday, Sept 2nd from 4 to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Gracia's memory to the Congregational Church of Topsfield, 9 East Common St., Topsfield, MA 01983.
