Gregory Vigliotta Obituary

SALEM – Mr. Gregory Peter Vigliotta 53, of Salem, died peacefully, Thursday, November 10th, 2022 at Advinia Care in Salem.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Rena (London) (Vigliotta) Scarponi and her husband, Bruce and the late Thomas Vigliotta and his wife, Kathy. He was raised and educated in Peabody and attended Peabody Veterans Memorial High School. He continued his education attending college at Bunker Hill.

From a young age Greg loved cars and being in the automotive industry was perfect for him. Mr. Vigliotta had a long and successful career in the Automotive Industry. He was a tremendously hard worker from day one. He began as a car sales professional and at the time of his illness he was the Business Manager of 128 Volvo. He was well respected throughout the automotive industry.

With a vivacious and outgoing nature, Greg endeared himself to many. No matter the surroundings or environment, Greg made friends wherever he went. He loved to bring a smile to the face of others and everyone that knew him loved him. His larger-than-life personality was his hallmark.

A lifelong resident of the North Shore, Greg was a member of the Franco-American Club in Beverly. He had a passion for sports and was a fervent Boston Sports fan. Never missing a chance to cheer on his favorite team. The Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots and Celtics were of course his favorites and he reveled in their success. He enjoyed spending his time golfing, bowling, and playing pool. For many years collecting sports trading cards was an obsessive hobby for him, he loved to hunt for that one in a million card. As a volunteer at Northeast Animal Shelter he was an animal lover and was recently predeceased by his beloved canine companion Bear. He never missed an opportunity to help an animal in need. It was a reflection of his inner kindness. Above all else he was a people person. From cooking a great meal for friends and family to catching a game in person or on tv, Greg loved to be surrounded by his friends, new and old alike. He will be missed.

Greg is survived by his son, Joseph J. Vigliotta of Danvers, his sister, Cherie DiTomasso and her husband, Manny Bettencourt of Wells, ME, his brothers, Mark Vigliotta and his wife, Wendy of Lebanon, ME, Thomas Vigliotta of Brooklyn, NY and Christopher Vigliotta of Portland, OR, his step mother, Kathy Vigliotta of Kennebunk, ME, his former spouse, Lisa (Souza) Vigliotta of Danvers and many nieces, nephews and friends.
