DELRAY BEACH, FL – Mrs. Harriett R. (Perkins) Paglia, 85 of Delray Beach, FL, beloved wife of David A. Paglia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Merrimack Valley Health Center in Amesbury.
Born in Danvers, she was the daughter of the late John N. and Ruth E. (Moser) Perkins. Raised and educated in Danvers, she was a graduate of Danvers High School class of 1952 and continued her education at Salem State College earning her bachelor’s degree in Education.
Mrs. Paglia started her professional career in education with Saltonstall Elementary School as an English teacher. She later matriculated to working with the City of Salem as an executive secretary in the mayor’s office, working alongside Mayor Salvo.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Harriett loved her family and enjoyed making memories with them. Throughout her youth and adulthood, a passion of Harriett’s was athletics. She was most notably honored as an inductee of the Danvers High School Sports Hall of Fame and she enjoyed playing both tennis and golf and took pride in organizing many golfing events for family, friends and organizations. She was selfless and will be fondly remembered by her loving family and dear friends.
In addition to her husband David with whom she shared over 34 years of marriage, Harriett is survived by her daughters, Deidre Castle of Newton, NH, and Gina Davis and her husband Darryl of Peabody, her sons, Daniel Birmingham of Newburyport and David M. Paglia of Danvers, her grandchildren, Rhiannon Hardy, Timothy Castle, Mikayla and Michael Davis, her sister Patricia Carr of Danvers and nieces, Cynthia Carr, Nancy Wilkins, Patricia Schilling and Jenny Svenson.
ARRANGEMENTS: At this time, all services are private. A memorial service will be held in the future.
