MIDDLETON, NH – Mr. Harry Ellsworth Cobb, 90, of Middleton, NH formerly of Salem and Ft. Myers, Florida, beloved husband of the late Gertrude (Hill) Cobb, died peacefully, February 13, 2021 at his home.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Willis and Grace (Manning) Cobb. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School. He continued his education attending both Wentworth College and Coyne Electrical School.

A long time, well know businessman in the City of Salem, he was the founder and proprietor of Cobb Electric Motor. Mr. Cobb served his patrons from 116 North Street for over 40 years until the time of his retirement in 1990. A true technician, he could fix almost any electric motor issue his customer was facing. He was known for his reliability and honesty as a business man and he always greeted his customers with a smile.

An active and outstanding Mason, he was a life member of Essex Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Salem and was awarded his 50 year pin. He was a dedicated member of the St. Peter’s Episcopal Church family, serving on the Vestry of the church and was a long time member of the St. Peter’s Couples Club. His faith and his church family was very important to him.

Harry loved the ocean and sailing. He raced his boat, “Bottoms Up” out of Palmers Cove Yacht Club and was happiest on the sea surrounded by family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing and was a longtime supporter of the Boston Red Sox. In later years, he resided in Flagler Beach and Ft. Myers, Florida, where he made many friends. Harry was devoted to his family and loved them dearly. He will be deeply missed.

Harry is survived by his daughters, Judy Larivee and her husband, Dave of Middleton, NH, Linda Cooney of Norway, ME, Susan Luz and her husband, Bob of Flagler Beach, Fl and Cindy Sostak and her husband Stan of Hampton, NH, his sons, Steve Cobb and his wife, Catherine of Salem, Rusty Cobb and his wife, Mary of Woburn, his son-in-law, Bill Kocur, Sr and his wife, Dru-Ann of Danvers, his 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Nancy Kocur, brother of the late Bob Cobb, June Wilkinson and Madge Powers and father-in-law of the late Joseph Cooney.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours at O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., Salem, MA 01970, Wednesday Feb 17th from 4 to 7 P.M.
