Obituary

SALISBURY – Ms. Isa Bauer Cann, 58, of Salisbury, died April 9th, 2023 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital following a sudden illness.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of Larry Cann and Ingeborg (Bauer) Cann. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Bishop Fenwick High School. She continued her education at Salem State University earning both her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Counseling.

Ms. Cann began her professional career as a licensed and professional children’s counselor. She loved the students she counseled. More recently she had been the successful proprietor of a home building and design business. She focused her company on the building of tiny homes. Her career harmonized with her passion for the environment. Preserving nature and limiting the use of natural resources was a passion both professionally and personally. She was also a gifted finish carpenter and mentor to others wishing to join the tiny home building profession and community. She was well respected and often asked to present at conventions, sharing her experience and expertise in her field.

Isa always full of life and smiles, which matched her youthful looks, was a strong and independent woman. She was steadfast in her beliefs and passions. She worked tirelessly to start her business and made many friends in her field along the way. She especially loved to mentor other women in business and wholeheartedly supported those who preserved and protected the environment. With her love of nature at the heart of whom she was, she was happiest when spending time traveling enjoying nature’s wonders. She truly felt herself in the out of doors. She also loved people and cared about them as well as animal life. She also possessed a strong faith and was a member of the Presbyterian Church of the North Shore in Ipswich.  Isa loved her family and kept close to them. As a single lady she put her efforts into her family and so many really close and supportive friends.

Isa is survived by her mother, Ingeborg (Bauer) Cann of Danvers, her father, Larry Cann of Atkinson, N.H., her brother, Eric Cann of Danvers, her aunt, Sharon Cann and her spouse Maureen O’ Hearn of Derry, NH, her uncles, Thomas Bauer of Germany and Andrew Cann of Harvard and extended family and many friends. She was the niece of the late Brian Cann.
